How they get eaten

• On their own, as a snack, particularly during Ramadan.
• Blended into dabino drink, soaked and blended with water and a little milk.
• Chopped into kunu, pap or porridge.
• As a natural sweetener in baking and smoothies.
• Stuffed with almonds or peanut butter.

Making dabino drink

1. Soak a handful in warm water for two hours until soft.
2. Blend with the soaking water until smooth.
3. Strain, add milk if you like, and chill thoroughly.
